Core values

All of the Bible points to Jesus. We make so much of Jesus in all we do. He is the Son of God who died for us, rose from the dead, gave us new life, and leads us today. He is the true hero of the story and the leader of our church. He > Me.
“Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. Love God with all our heart.” Matthew 22:37–38
-
We believe the Bible is living and active today. The Bible is the very Word of God which means it is the source of truth for our lives, our faith, our families, and the world. We prioritize the Word of God in our worship gatherings, groups, and daily lives. Our pastors teach us from the Bible through expository preaching, meaning we get to understand the context and point of Bible passage, what it teaches us about God, and how it applies to our lives today.
-
Our deepest longing is to be loved and accepted. The good news of Jesus is that God not only cancels our sins but also brings us into God’s family. We are family. We love each other and strive to be an authentic community for people of all ages and walks of life.
“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another.” John 13:34-35
-
We need leaders who serve like Jesus. We strive to be a culture where anyone can use their gifts for God, and everyone will want to serve with a team for Jesus. As we do, we will see leaders developed and serve at an even higher level to the praise of our King.
I Peter 1:3-4
he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you.
OUR MISSION
“And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations.”
Matthew 28:18-19
We are on a mission to reach our neighbors, coworkers, city, and the world with his good news. Through our words and actions, we want to influence people to come to Jesus, grow in him, and multiply more healthy disciples, groups, and churches.
We are people from many different backgrounds, economic situations, cultures, and walks of life. We believe the gospel is powerful enough to restore hope to anyone, anywhere. We strive to be a loving and supportive church family for people in every stage of life.
OUR STORY
Josh and Lacey have served in church ministry for 13 years. Entering into 2021, God began showing them that he was preparing them for a new season of ministry. As they prayed, God revealed a special area of need and calling. He led them to plant Living Hope Church in the S. Bradenton/N. Sarasota area of University Parkway. Many people live in these neighborhoods without Christ or a strong Christ-centered church nearby.
Josh and Lacey are joined in the leadership team by Pastor Dennis and Chris Komis. Together, Living Hope is committed to fully devoting themselves to Jesus Christ and making followers of him. The church started to meet weekly for Bible study and prayer in October of 2021 and officially launched on September 18, 2022.
Living Hope is a church that follows Christ, displays grace in community, and passionately shares Christ with others.
